Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Gibran Rakabuming Raka directly inspected the results of the road paving project in Dukuh Gendol, Mojokerto Village, Kedawung Subdistrict, Sragen Regency, Central Java, which represents the government’s commitment to accelerating improvements in basic rural infrastructure.

“Now the road is smooth and good. The community certainly feels satisfied and grateful,” said Mojokerto Village Secretary Surono when providing information on the positive impacts of the road infrastructure improvement, quoted from BPMI of the Vice Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta on Thursday.

The main focus of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration’s commitment to accelerating improvements in basic infrastructure targets rural areas to support residents’ mobility.

The condition of the road in Dukuh Gendol was previously reported to be severely damaged and uneven. The wavy road surface often hindered local economic and social activities.

Surono explained that villagers had attempted independent repairs before central government intervention. These self-help efforts used limited materials, so the smooth road did not last long.

“Initially, it was only concrete slabs from villagers’ self-help efforts. Over time, they peeled off, the surface became uneven and wavy,” Surono revealed regarding the transportation route’s condition before the paving.

Through the government’s development programme, the previously damaged road access has now been properly asphalted. This change is seen as providing comfort for road users and facilitating the distribution of farm produce in the Kedawung area.

The Vice President’s presence at the project site was greeted with high enthusiasm by Mojokerto Village residents. One resident expressed that they wanted to meet Gibran directly, who is the second-highest official in the Republic of Indonesia.
