Vessel collides with oil tanker
SINGAPORE (Reuter): An oil tanker collided with a fishing
vessel in the Straits of Malacca yesterday, Lloyd's Shipping
Intelligence and shipping sources said.
Three people on board the fishing vessel Jasa Baru were picked
up by the Panamanian-registered 1,822-gross ton tanker B Cupid,
but one person was reported missing, Lloyd's said.
"The Jasa Baru is probably Indonesian," an official from the
Malaysian Rescue Coordination Center in Klang said by telephone.
"There are no reports so far of any oil spill," he said.
