Vespa S 150 features an immobiliser and LCD instrument panel
Jakarta (ANTARA) –
The latest Vespa S 150 comes with a range of features, from a square-shaped LED headlamp to an immobiliser system that helps prevent the engine from being started without the correct key.
In a press release received by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday, PT Piaggio Indonesia said the scooter is powered by a 150cc i-get engine with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
For riding comfort, the Vespa S 150 uses a double-swinging-arm suspension system with two degrees of freedom. The system helps reduce friction and vibration, while absorbing impacts when the vehicle travels over uneven road surfaces.
The square LED headlamp is one of the Vespa S 150’s sporty design features. It remains illuminated to help improve the scooter’s visibility to other road users.
Vespa has also fitted the scooter with an instrument panel combining analogue and digital displays. Its LCD screen shows information including the odometer, trip distance, fuel indicator and time.
Another feature is an immobiliser integrated with the ignition key. The system helps prevent the engine from being started with an unauthorised key. Meanwhile, the rear-view mirrors have a chrome-plated reflective finish intended to protect the surface from corrosion and reduce glare from the headlights of vehicles behind.
Ayu Hapsari, Public Relations and Communications Manager at PT Piaggio Indonesia, said the company continued to strive to keep its products relevant by responding to changing consumer needs while maintaining service quality.
“The most important thing is that we always stay relevant. So, we keep up with the times and consistently provide the best service,” Ayu said in Jakarta on Thursday.
The new scooter, priced from Rp48 million, was introduced on 7 October 2026 and is available in three colours: Green Tenace, Grey Intrepido and Black Convinto. Alongside the Vespa LX 150, the model is assembled locally in Indonesia.
