VDHS in acquisition talks

SINGAPORE (Reuter): Engineering and infrastructure services
firm Van der Horst said yesterday it was in talks to buy stakes
in companies with interests in telecommunications in Indonesia
and in civil engineering and construction in Asia.

Van Der Horst said in a statement that company chairman
Johanes Kotjo had told the board the proposed acquisitions could
see a substantial increase in the share capital of Van der Horst
which might result in a change in effective control.

It said no agreements had been finalized, but the outcome of
the talks would be announced by the end of the week.
The company had requested a continuation of the trading
suspension of its shares and warrants, it said.
