Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Mining company PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO) plans to submit a revision to its production quota allocation in the Work and Budget Plan (RKAB) for the 2026 financial year. INCO Director and Chief Sustainability & Corporate Affairs Officer Budiawansyah stated that the current production allocation of 30% is insufficient to support the company’s one-year business targets.

“There are several commitments we must fulfil, including commitments to shareholders and commitments to our downstream processing projects,” Budiawansyah explained during a media briefing in Jakarta on Friday, 6 March 2026.

Nevertheless, he emphasised that nickel matte production plans remain unaffected by the proposed revision. Nickel matte production from Sorowako operations continues according to projections, as the RKAB for Sorowako operations has been fully approved.

For the Pomalaa project, the company is still conducting detailed calculations to align with production projections and downstream plans under development. The company targets the Pomalaa project expansion to reach mechanical completion stage by August 2026, enabling the facility to enter the production phase.

The Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) Pomalaa has reported construction progress reaching 62%. Several major infrastructure components have been completed, including the North Access Road (NAR), Main Construction Office building, and a modern nursery facility with capacity for one million seedlings as part of sustainability commitments.

Construction of various supporting facilities is being accelerated, including the Living Area or Operation Camp at 41% completion and Workshop and Office Area at 57%. Additionally, collaboration with partner Huayou (KNI) in developing the Feed Preparation Plant and High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) facility has exceeded 36% progress.
