USDA sets credits for SE Asia

WASHINGTON (Reuters): The U.S. Agriculture said Thursday that it has authorized US$90 million in export credit guarantees for sales of U.S. farm goods to the Southeast Asian region through the end of fiscal 1999.

Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand can buy a variety of farm goods under the 15-month initiative, including barley malt, breeder livestock, corn products, cotton, cotton yarn and fabrics, dairy products, hay, frozen or chilled meat, peanut flour and peanut butter, oilseeds, planting seeds, poultry breeder stock, protein meal, pulses, rice, vegetable oil and wheat, USDA said.
