US President's Lie to Attack Iran Exposed

Public opinion in the United States is divided. The reasons for the United States to attack Iran are being questioned. Is the attack simply to ‘obey’ Israel’s wishes? Or is the military operation indeed the United States’ right to self-defence against a possible attack from Tehran.

Looking at the statements by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Uncle Sam appears to be aware that Israel would launch an attack on Iran first. So, it is not the United States that would be directly threatened by Iran.

‘There will be action (an attack) by Israel,’ he told reporters on Monday. ‘We know that it would trigger attacks against American forces, and we know that if we do not strike them first before they launch such an attack, we would suffer greater casualties.’

Rubio’s statement has sparked considerable speculation that there is actually no threat to the United States from Iran. The fact is that Israel feels threatened by Iran and is seeking US assistance.

Rubio’s explanation suggests that there is actually no justification for the United States to go to war with Iran since there is no direct threat to Uncle Sam.

‘There is no direct threat to the United States from Iran,’ said Mark Warner, a Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, who has received a confidential briefing from Rubio. ‘What exists is a threat to Israel,’ he emphasised.

According to him, if the government equates the threat to Israel with a direct threat to the United States, then the US is in uncharted territory.

‘We should hold a debate in the United States Senate on authorising the use of military force,’ said Chris Murphy, a Democratic senator, on Tuesday evening after he and other lawmakers received a confidential briefing from Rubio and other senior government officials. He stated that members of Congress should not vote to proceed with this military operation. The council cannot justify it into a bill until there is debate about a war that is very unpopular, immoral, and illegal with Iran.

Donald Trump sought to soften Rubio’s statements. He rejected the wave of anti-Israel protests heating up on Capitol Hill, including among his own MAGA supporters. Trump denied the notion that he was forced to attack Iran because Israel had decided to go first.

When asked whether Israel had pushed him to launch the military action, Trump told reporters, ‘No. Perhaps I forced them.’

‘We are dealing with crazy people, and in my view they will strike first. They will attack. If we do not do it, they will strike first. I am very confident about that.’
