US-Israel Strike on Iran Forces 1,631 Passengers to Cancel Flights from Bali
As many as 1,631 passengers failed to depart from Bali to the Middle East region following a military strike by the United States and Israel on Iran.
Gede Eka Sandi, head of communications and legal affairs at PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, stated that several flights from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport to the Middle East have been disrupted as a result of the US-Israel and Iran conflict.
“Regarding the closure of airspace in several countries, we can report that there are a number of flight routes at Ngurah Rai International Airport experiencing flight delays and/or schedule adjustments,” said Gede Eka Sandi in an official statement received by Kompas.com on Sunday, 1 March 2026.
Based on data from the airlines, the number of prospective passengers from five flights experiencing schedule adjustments totalled 1,631 passengers.
However, Gede Eka Sandi noted that flight operations and airport services at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport are generally operating normally.
PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia management, operating as InJourney Airports for Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, is also coordinating with several institutions. Primarily with airlines to continually update flight schedules and handle prospective passengers already at the airport.
They are also coordinating with AirNav Indonesia to monitor affected airspace.
The handling of all passengers has been carried out in accordance with each airline’s respective policies.
“We urge prospective aircraft passengers to continue communicating with their airlines for updates on flight schedule information,” said Gede.
Gede Eka Sandi added that there is a help desk service located on Level 2 of the International Departure Terminal, as well as a contact centre accessible by telephone on number 172 for schedule update information.
