Following the closure of airspace across parts of the Middle East, Emirates airline has decided to temporarily suspend all flight operations to and from Dubai until 15:00 UAE time on Sunday, 1 March 2026.

“As a result of the closure of several regional airspaces, Emirates is temporarily suspending all flight operations to and from Dubai until 15:00 UAE time on Sunday, 1 March,” the airline stated on its official website.

Prospective passengers who have booked tickets within a 72-hour window following the announcement may rebook alternative flights or request refunds. Those wishing to apply for refunds may do so by completing a refund request form.

“We urge all customers to check their flight status before heading to the airport,” the airline said.

Passengers affected by the flight cancellations must contact their travel agents to rebook their tickets. Customers are also requested to ensure that their contact details are correct so that updates from the airline can be received properly.

“We sincerely apologise to customers affected by this disruption for the inconvenience caused. The safety and security of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority,” the airline stated.

According to Al Jazeera, at least eight countries have announced the closure of their airspace following the outbreak of the conflict on Saturday, 28 February 2026. These nations include Iran, Israel, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. Syria has also announced the closure of part of its southern airspace along its border with Israel for 12 hours.

The United States and Israel have launched attacks against Iran, with explosions heard and seen across Tehran and other regions of the country. Several missiles have struck roads in the Jomhouri area of Tehran, with smoke visible across the city.

Iran’s semi-official news agency Tasnim reported that explosions have also occurred in the Seyyed Khandan area in northern Tehran.
