At least nearly 140,000 housing units in Iran have been damaged due to US-Israel airstrikes. Hundreds of healthcare facilities and schools have also been damaged.

According to CNN on Friday (3/4/2026), the Red Crescent stated that at least 316 healthcare facilities, medical centres, and emergency medical services (EMS), 763 schools, and 18 Red Crescent offices have been damaged due to the US-Israel attacks.

Search and rescue dogs have been deployed in 693 missions since the war began. They have also located injured people and bodies under rubble in several operations.

Previously, Iranian authorities reported that waves of US and Israeli attacks have caused damage to more than 100 museums and cultural sites, as well as historical sites, across various regions of the country since the war started at the end of February.

“At least 120 museums, historical buildings, and cultural sites in various provinces were directly targeted and suffered serious structural damage,” said Ahmad Alavi, head of the cultural heritage committee at the Tehran City Council, in his statement, as reported by AFP on Friday (27/3).

In a statement quoted by Iranian state television, Alavi mentioned that Golestan Palace, listed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), along with other sites, has been damaged due to the war.

Several cultural and historical sites damaged by the US-Israel attacks, Alavi said, include Saadabad Palace, Marble Palace, and the Teymourtash house, also known as the War Museum.

The US and Israel launched large-scale joint attacks against Iran since 28 February and continue to this day. A total of at least 1,340 people have been killed due to the series of US-Israel attacks in various regions of Iran, including the country’s highest leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with waves of missile and drone attacks on targets in Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
