U.S. firm wins contract
JAKARTA (JP): The publicly-listed company Jakarta International Hotels and Development, the owner of Borobudur Inter-Continental Hotel, has appointed Flour Daniel of the United States to renovate and redesign the hotel.
The Vice President of Flour Daniel Indonesia, Rod Ragan, said in a statement yesterday that the renovation work, worth US$65 million, will involve 12 architecture companies, one quantity surveyor, 14 contractors and 1,400 workers.
Flour Daniel Inc, a subsidiary of Flour Corporation, was previously appointed as the management advisor of the privately- owned coal-fired power station, PT Paiton Energy, in East Java.
The five-star Borobudur Hotel is managed by Inter-Continental Hotel Corporation, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Saison Group which is also the operator of the Jimbaran resorts and hotels in Bali owned by Bimantara Group. (04)
