U.S. adds credit to RI
WASHINGTON (Reuters): The U.S. Agriculture Department said
Tuesday that it is adding corn products to the list of food items
that Indonesia and the Philippines can buy under the GSM-102
export credit guarantee program.
USDA also added fruit juices to the lists for both countries
and ice cream to the list for Indonesia and pulses to the list
for the Philippines.
Corn products include corn flour, corn grits, corn flakes corn
starch, corn meal and corn gluten feed.
Indonesia has a $250-million allocation under the fiscal 1998
GSM-102 program and the Philippines has a $20-million allocation.
Sales under the export credit program must be registered with
USDA by Sept. 30, 1998 and exporter contracts must call for
delivery by Nov. 30, 1998.
