Urge and admonish oneself

Urge and admonish oneself

From Merdeka

I was flabbergasted upon hearing the functional group's
(Golkar) chairman Akbar Tandjung state that his party had urged
the government to investigate and to settle various recent
happenings. What came to my mind was Akbar Tandjung, the
minister/state secretary.

I was perplexed. How could Akbar Tandjung "split his body"? On
the one hand he urged the government, but on the other hand, the
government which he urged was himself. It was extremely weird.

Akbar Tandjung may be aware that he will encounter a conflict
of interests like he had said before he was elected Golkar
chairman. At the time, in response to various questions, he said
he would resign as minister/state secretary. Why did not he do
so?

It is astonishing that Akbar Tandjung admonishes himself!
