Lane Moving: 'The Difference is That We Care'
Lane Moving: 'The Difference is That We Care' One of Gary Sweitzer's favorite sayings is that "All moving companies are not created equal." It is a statement only partly in jest, particularly now that the removal service business is clogged with newcomers seeking a piece of the action created by the political and economic turmoil of the past year.

Legislators: Big fish in a small pond
Legislators: Big fish in a small pond JAKARTA (JP): Putting back smiles on the faces of university students after the so-called Black Friday is not an easy task. The injuries, torture, shooting, lashing, bashing, and death of friends they have experienced are extremely traumatic and too much to bear. More over, to their chagrin, the recent SI of MPR (Special Session of People's Consultative Assembly) has not met their demands. They have become withdrawn, sad, and sometimes hard to talk to.

Urge and admonish oneself
Urge and admonish oneself From Merdeka I was flabbergasted upon hearing the functional group's (Golkar) chairman Akbar Tandjung state that his party had urged the government to investigate and to settle various recent happenings. What came to my mind was Akbar Tandjung, the minister/state secretary. I was perplexed. How could Akbar Tandjung "split his body"? Abah Kimo
Abah Kimo By Widya Indratno Everybody in this town certainly knew Abah Kimo alias Thee Kim Ong. It is easy to tell by his name that Sukimo, 56, was an Indonesian of Chinese origin. Although clearly bearing physical characteristics of his race: slanted eyes, raised eyebrows and straight hair, the man did not want to be called Chinese. Perhaps because his father was a Javanese and he himself was once married to a Priangan (West Javanese) girl, Chinese culture did not seem to be part of him.
