Unseeded wins sprint rally

JAKARTA (JP): Unseeded Raymond Pribadi surprised defending
champion Roy Nirwan when he won the second leg of the national
sprint rally championship in Serpong, West Java on Sunday.

Driving a Subaru Legacy, Raymond completed two special stages
covering 30 kilometers in 10 minutes and five seconds, leaving
pre-race favorite Roy, driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution,
trailing by four seconds. Akbar Hadianto came third in 10:10.

However, Roy kept his overall lead intact with 35 points after
two races. Raymond lies a distant second on 20 points. The
championship series will resume at the same venue on Aug. 3 and
the final round will be on Oct. 3. (amd)
