JAKARTA (JP): Bank Universal has launched a credit card
service for its domestic customers in cooperation with MasterCard
International.

MasterCard International director for member relations and
marketing Iwan Notowidigdo said yesterday the credit card,
Universal MasterCard, was formally launched last week.

Several incentives are offered to credit card holders such as
free memberships after the first year and free accident
insurance.

MasterCard International, one of the world's leading credit
card companies, is linked to 22,000 financial institutions
worldwide.

There were more than 370 million MasterCards in use worldwide,
with around US$500 billion in transactions, last year. (01)
