UNDP launches radio campaign
JAKARTA: The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Indonesian government launched on Wednesday a radio campaign to promote Millennium Development Goals and the country's measures to deal with poverty.
The program will be broadcasted live by state radio RRI every Monday at 5 p.m. starting from Sept. 27 and private station 68H every Wednesday at 9 a.m. starting from Sept. 15 across the country for three months.
Listeners will be involved in the program, which will talk about various issues, including cheap but quality elementary education, clean water for slum areas and high risked HIV/AIDS groups.
"The Millennium Goals is the obligation of the government for the people," UN special envoy for the Millennium Goals Erna Witoelar said in the statement. "People need to know about the goals and the government's commitment to reaching them in 2015."--JP
