UK, RP police meet on pedophilia

MANILA (AFP): A British police representative held talks with top Philippine police officials yesterday to strengthen cooperation in the campaign against pedophiles.

A British embassy statement said Tony Butler, the chief constable for Gloucestershire and the officer in charge of Britain's child protection policy, met Philippine National Police chief Recaredo Sarmiento and other officials.

They discussed ways to have evidence gathered locally acceptable in British courts to help prosecute suspected child molesters.
