Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Doctoral Programme (S3) in Islamic Banking at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta has officially achieved Excellent Accreditation status from the Independent Accreditation Agency for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting (LAMEMBA).

“This achievement of Excellent Accreditation is tangible proof of FEB UIN Jakarta’s commitment to delivering high-quality and industry-relevant doctoral education in Islamic banking, as well as advancing Islamic knowledge,” said Dean of FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof Ibnu Qizam, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Ibnu emphasised that they adopt an integrative, interdisciplinary, and multidisciplinary approach in the learning process.

“We continue to strive to become a leading centre for studies in Islamic economics and finance, both nationally and internationally,” he stated.

Ibnu also mentioned that the curriculum is based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), designed to produce graduates who excel not only academically but also contribute meaningfully as researchers, academics, globally minded Islamic banking practitioners, and visionary policymakers.

“With the OBE curriculum that we continuously update, graduates of this programme are prepared to become outstanding academics and researchers in Islamic economics and finance, as well as professionals capable of addressing the challenges of the global Islamic financial industry,” he said.

It is known that, in accordance with Ministry of Religious Affairs Regulation (PMA) Number 6 of 2026 on the Establishment of Faculties, Departments, and Study Programmes, as well as Degree Titles and Procedures for Writing Degrees in the Religious Sciences Cluster, the S3 Islamic Banking Programme will soon change its nomenclature to S3 in Islamic Banking and Finance.

Alongside achieving Excellent Accreditation and this nomenclature change, FEB UIN Jakarta has opened registrations for new students in the Doctoral Programme in Islamic Banking for the Odd Semester 2026/2027.

The programme is expected to soon open prestigious scholarship pathways, including the LPDP BIB (Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship), from the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with LPDP.
