The Indonesian Army’s Udayana Regional Command (Kodam IX/Udayana) has revoked the military status of TNI AD soldier Aloysius Dalo Odjan from Larantuka, East Flores Regency. Odjan had previously been commissioned as a soldier but was subsequently implicated in a case involving the sexual assault of a minor.

Colonel Widi Rahman, the Head of Information for Kodam Udayana, stated that the command immediately commenced an investigation following media reports of the case.

“Following the emergence of reports, Kodam Udayana immediately launched a comprehensive, objective, and transparent investigation to ascertain the true facts,” said Widi Rahman on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

The internal investigation findings revealed that Aloysius, who previously held the rank of Prada and was undergoing further military education, allegedly provided false information regarding his legal status in the Police Clearance Certificate (Surat Keterangan Catatan Kepolisian/SKCK) issued by the East Nusa Tenggara Police Regional Command (Polda NTT).

According to Widi, these actions allegedly constitute legal violations as stipulated in Article 263 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) read in conjunction with Article 391 of Law Number 1 Year 2023 concerning the National Criminal Code, which relates to document forgery or false declarations.

In response to these findings, the TNI AD leadership issued a modification to the Chief of Staff of the Army’s decision through Army Chief of Staff Decree Number Kep/122a-33/III/2026, amending the previous decree dated 2 February 2026.

“Based on the investigation results and various considerations by TNI AD leadership, it was decided to impose disciplinary action against the individual involved, namely the cancellation of his Prada decree and reversion to civilian status,” he stated.

Widi emphasised that this measure represents the TNI AD’s commitment to maintaining discipline, integrity, and law enforcement in the soldier recruitment process.

According to him, the actions taken by Aloysius not only violate legal provisions but also risk damaging public trust in the TNI institution.

“Therefore, this decision was made firmly as a form of rule enforcement and to send a message that any legal violation will not be tolerated within the TNI AD,” he said.

Currently, Aloysius has been transferred to the East Flores District Police (Polres Flores Timur) to undergo further legal proceedings in accordance with applicable regulations.

Kodam Udayana also urged the public to exercise discernment regarding circulating information and not to be easily influenced by unverified reports.

According to Widi, the TNI AD continues to uphold transparency, professionalism, and accountability in all personnel development processes.

“We ensure that any violation will be processed in accordance with applicable legal regulations,” he concluded.
