UBSI Students Support Digitalisation of Bekasi High School with Web-Based E-Report Application

Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) has reaffirmed its commitment as a creative digital campus by delivering a technology-based solution for the education sector through its students. Rafif Maulana, a student from the Information Systems programme, handed over a web-based E-Rapor information system to SMA Islam Rejis Bekasi on Tuesday (30/6/2026). The application was developed as part of his thesis research under the supervision of Muhamad Abdul Ghani and Sari Dewi. The handover to the school, represented by the headmaster and teachers, included a presentation and demonstration of the system. The web-based E-Rapor application was created to support the digitalisation of academic data management at SMA Islam Rejis Bekasi, which previously relied on separate manual spreadsheets. The integrated system now enables more effective, faster, and accurate data management. The system is designed with role-based access control for administrators, subject teachers, and homeroom teachers. Its features are tailored to the needs of the Merdeka Curriculum, including student data management, formative and summative grade input, attendance recording, automatic conversion of attitude predicates, and real-time printing of digital report cards in PDF format. The application was built using the PHP programming language with the CodeIgniter 4 framework, a MySQL database, and a Bootstrap 5 interface. Black-box testing showed that all functions operate as required with a 100 per cent success rate. The headmaster of SMA Islam Rejis Bekasi expressed appreciation for the innovation, stating that the application provides a solution to the previously manual grade processing. ‘We are greatly assisted by this E-Rapor application. The grade processing, which previously took a long time and was prone to input errors, can now be done automatically, integrated, and more accurately. This application is a real step in supporting the digitalisation of school administration and the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum,’ he said in a press release on Tuesday (7/7/2026). Supervisor Muhamad Abdul Ghani explained that the work demonstrates how academic learning can provide direct benefits to the community. ‘Through thesis research, students are not only required to produce scientific work but also to create solutions that can be applied to meet real needs. We hope this application can be used sustainably to improve the effectiveness of academic administration management in schools,’ he said. Through such implementations of student research, UBSI continues to demonstrate its commitment to producing digital talent who not only possess academic competence but also generate innovations that provide real benefits to society.
