A programme to strengthen the quality of learning environments and develop student capacity is being implemented to support improvements in educational quality in East Jakarta. This initiative emphasises facility improvements and student self-development activities through various non-formal learning activities.

This year, the programme targets two schools in East Jakarta: Yayasan Pendidikan Citra Dharma in Cipayung and Yayasan Ziyadatul Arqom in Jatinegara. Both educational institutions serve 355 students and 69 teachers from primary through vocational secondary school levels. The programme is part of a corporate social responsibility initiative run by MMSGI through the Bigger Dream 2026 programme, implemented jointly with the Life After Mine Foundation (Line).

The programme launch ceremony was held at the MMSGI Iftar 2026 event at Balai Kartini, Jakarta. During the event, LINE Foundation Chairman Mochamad Bihar symbolically handed over the programme to representatives of the beneficiary schools.

The Bigger Dream programme focuses on two main aspects: improving the quality of learning environments through school facility renovations and strengthening student capacity through various self-development activities involving employee volunteers.

MMSGI Chief Executive Officer Sendy Greti stated that the programme expansion represents the company’s commitment to delivering sustainable social impact in the education sector.

“Following last year’s Bigger Dream launch in Cilincing, North Jakarta, this year we are expanding the programme’s reach to East Jakarta with two schools simultaneously. We hope that more students can experience better learning environments and have the opportunity to realise bigger dreams for their future,” said Sendy.

The Bigger Dream programme was previously implemented at Yayasan Syarif Hidayatullah in Cilincing, North Jakarta, throughout 2025 and early 2026. In its implementation, the initiative involved 185 MMSGI employees serving as both donors and volunteers in various social activities.

Through the previous year’s programme, the collaboration between MMSGI and the Line Foundation successfully realised renovations of 10 school facilities, comprising 8 classrooms and 2 sanitation facilities, to create healthier and more adequate learning environments. The programme provided direct benefits to 232 beneficiaries, consisting of 207 students and 25 teaching staff.

Beyond physical facility improvements, the programme also introduced various student capacity-building activities. These include storytelling for primary school students, vision board creation for junior secondary students to help plan their future aspirations, and entrepreneurship training based on business model canvas for vocational secondary school students.

LINE Foundation Chairman Mochamad Bihar believes that collaboration between the business sector, social organisations, and educational institutions is an important factor in creating sustainable social impact.

“The Bigger Dream programme not only provides school facility improvements but also creates space for interaction between volunteers and students to provide inspiration and motivation for young people in pursuing their dreams,” he said.

The programme is also supported by active employee contributions. In the previous implementation, total donations collected reached approximately Rp1.012 billion, sourced from company and employee contributions. Through the implementation of Bigger Dream 2026, MMSGI hopes the programme can continue to develop as a platform for educational empowerment whilst expanding sustainable social impact for the community.
