PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has reported that two of its vessels have successfully departed the conflict area in the Middle East region. Two additional vessels remain in the Arabian Gulf and are awaiting safe conditions to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

The four vessels comprise PIS Rinjani, PIS Paragon, VLCC Pertamina Pride, and Gamsunoro. PIS Rinjani and PIS Paragon have been confirmed to have left the conflict area, whilst Pertamina Pride and Gamsunoro continue to operate in the Arabian Gulf under safe conditions.

Acting Corporate Secretary of Pertamina International Shipping Vega Pita stated that the company continues to monitor the operational situation of its fleet in the region. “PIS is conducting intensive 24-hour real-time monitoring of all fleet positions, crew, and personnel,” said Vega in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

The two vessels remaining in the Arabian Gulf are currently awaiting conditions deemed safe before departing through the Strait of Hormuz. This route represents one of the world’s strategically important shipping lanes for global energy distribution.

Gamsunoro is recorded as carrying cargo belonging to third-party consumers. VLCC Pertamina Pride is undertaking a light crude oil transportation mission to meet Indonesia’s domestic energy requirements.

Vega stated that the company is also strengthening coordination with various maritime authorities in its operational areas. “We are maintaining close coordination with maritime authorities and local authorities to ensure the safety and security of all vessel crew and cargo being transported,” she said.

Beyond these four vessels, Pertamina’s energy supply chain continues to operate through other fleets operating in various international and domestic waters. The energy distribution network is supported by at least 345 vessels under the management of the Pertamina Group.

Pertamina Group is also coordinating with the government in determining energy distribution strategy. The company applies Regular, Alternative, and Emergency methods to select the most effective and safe supply chain route for meeting the public’s energy requirements.

Amid the region’s dynamic situation, PIS has stated that it continues to prioritise crew safety whilst maintaining Indonesia’s national energy distribution. The company has also requested public support for the seafarers serving in the Middle East region.
