Two Padel Courts in North Jakarta Sealed for Lack of Permits
The North Jakarta City Administration’s Sub-Department of Cipta Karya, Tata Ruang, dan Pertanahan (Sudin CKTRP) sealed the operations of two padel courts in Ancol and Penjaringan because the owners had not obtained the necessary administrative permits, on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
Head of CKTRP for North Jakarta Administrative City, Herry Priyatno, said the sealing serves as an administrative sanction on the operation of the two padel courts. Both were found not to hold the required administrative permit in the form of a Building Approval (PBG).
‘So today, Wednesday, 4 March 2026, we carried out the administrative sanction enforcement consisting of a permanent cessation of activities, known as sealing,’ he said in a statement.
Herry said the two padel courts could reopen once the owners have processed and obtained the PBG. He added there is no deadline for the sealing; it depends on the owners’ legal team to promptly obtain the permits. The authorities will be ready to assist with the permit process. He urged prospective padel operators to obtain permits before construction proceeds.
Earlier, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said his administration would examine the permits for the 397 padel courts currently operating in the Capital. Pramono confirmed enforcement would target unauthorised padel courts, ranging from halting operations to demolition.
The number of padel courts in Jakarta is 397. We are examining how many of the 397 have permits. We will carry out enforcement as stated,” Pramono said at City Hall on Tuesday, 24 February.
