The Head of the Denpasar City Fire and Rescue Service (Damkarmat), I Made Tirana, plans to add 30 personnel. They will be deployed to complete the staff at the additional posts.

“Approximately around 30 personnel, to strengthen each post,” Tirana told detikBali on Wednesday (15/4/2026).

Currently, Tirana continued, Denpasar Damkarmat has around 170 personnel. Of that number, 32 members are on outsourcing status.

According to Tirana, employee regeneration is very much needed because the personnel are ageing. “Every year there are those who retire, coincidentally we have an addition of posts this year in Serangan and Kesiman. That also requires manpower,” he explained.

“Of course, we can only implement it with outsourcing. Otherwise, we can’t,” Tirana added.

He explained that the personnel addition plan is still awaiting approval from the Denpasar City Government (Pemkot), including the budget.

In addition to adding personnel, Damkar will also add vehicles this year. Currently, there are 16 operational fire vehicles. Meanwhile, for rescue or rescue units, there are four vehicles and one inspection vehicle.

“For now, it has fulfilled the plan in the budget amendment, there is an addition of another Damkar vehicle, 2 large and small units, and one more rescue unit,” added Made Tirana.

Each fire post is allocated two units each. Denpasar City Damkarmat currently has four posts. Namely, the Main Post is on Jalan Imam Bonjol, the second is the Mahendradata Post on Jalan Mahendradatta Utara. Then, there is the Cokro Post on Jalan Cokroaminoto, Ubung Terminal complex, and the fourth is the Juanda Post on Jalan Ir Juanda, Renon, East Denpasar.

The plan is to add posts in two locations, namely the Kesiman Post in East Denpasar and the Serangan Post in South Denpasar. “Each post has two large and small fire trucks and one rescue vehicle,” Tirana emphasised.
