Two Members of Indonesian Delegation Sail in Global Sumud Flotilla from Spain
Two delegates from the Global Peace Convoy Indonesia (GPCI), Maimon Herawati and Chiki Fawzi, have set sail with the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) 2026. The pair are accompanying three ships donated by the Indonesian people for a humanitarian mission to breach the Gaza blockade in Palestine. Maimon and Chiki are sailing alongside other international volunteers and activists from the Port of Moll de la Fusta in Barcelona, Spain. The departure of the flotilla participants took place on Sunday (12/4/2026). Maimon stated that during the ceremony held yesterday, 30 Global Sumud Flotilla vessels were launched to navigate the Mediterranean Sea. “There are 30 official ships departing from Barcelona to sail to Gaza, Palestine, in the Global Sumud Flotilla humanitarian mission, joined by around a thousand participants from various countries,” said Maimon on Monday (13/4/2026). “Two representatives from the Indonesian delegation, namely Chiki Fawzi and Maimon Herawati, are taking part in the voyage,” Maimon added. Meanwhile, two other GPCI delegates, Muhammad Husein, Syafawi, and Sugandhi, who joined in seeing off the volunteers and activists of the Global Sumud Flotilla in Spain, have been dispatched to Libya to follow a land route in a similar mission to Gaza via Egypt. “Three Indonesian delegates, Muhammad Husein, Syafawi, and Sugandhi, are joining the land convoy through Libya,” said Maimon. Indonesia, through the role of GPCI, has donated three ships to the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 sailing mission. The three ships are planned to be named Ship Faizol Ramadhon, Ship Malahayati, and Ship Hasanuddin. These three ships, funded by contributions from Indonesian citizens through a Palestinian activism consortium in Indonesia, will join hundreds of other humanitarian vessels sailing to breach the Gaza blockade.
