Two Hajj pilgrims in Maluku replaced due to pregnancy and death
The Maluku Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has replaced two prospective Hajj pilgrims who were unable to depart due to death and pregnancy with pilgrims from the reserve list. “There are two who failed to depart, one from the City of Ambon because she is pregnant and one from East Seram Regency because he passed away,” said the Head of the Maluku Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Djumadi Wally, in Ambon on Wednesday. The two prospective pilgrims were each part of Kloter 24 and 26. They are Jassin Oei (92) from East Seram Regency who passed away and Rianti Ali Suhael (40) from the City of Ambon who was unable to depart after being found to be pregnant. Therefore, the two prospective pilgrims were replaced with candidates from the reserve list from Central Maluku. “They have been replaced; the one who passed away and the one who is pregnant had their visas cancelled, then replaced with reserve candidates,” Djumadi said. With this replacement, he stated, the quota for Hajj pilgrims from Maluku remains fulfilled according to the established schedule. Previously, it was known that the total quota for prospective Hajj pilgrims in 2026 is 587 people. The departure of the pilgrims is scheduled to take place in several flight groups (kloter) starting from 7 May to 9 May 2026. For Kloter UPG 24, the pilgrims are scheduled to enter the dormitory on 7 May at 06.00 WIT, then depart for Makassar on 8 May in the early hours via several flights. Upon arrival in Makassar, the pilgrims will then fly to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on the same day. Meanwhile, Kloter UPG 26 is scheduled to enter the dormitory on 8 May at 14.00 WIT and depart for Makassar on 9 May. After transiting, the pilgrims will continue their journey to Jeddah in the evening.
