Two Containers of Fabric Found as Thieves Who Stole Rp 1.3 Billion Worth of Batik at JCC Arrested
Police have arrested three thieves who stole fabric and hand-drawn batik worth Rp 1.3 billion from an exhibition at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Senayan. Two containers filled with fabric and batik clothing were seized during the arrests.
“The evidence includes two containers filled with batik clothing and batik fabric,” said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at Tanah Abang Police Station, AKP Ikhsan Rangga, in a statement on Monday (16/2/2026).
In addition, police secured two large sacks, one suitcase, and five plastic bags containing batik clothing and fabric. Officers also impounded a Toyota Cayla vehicle used by the suspects during the crime.
“Two large white sacks containing batik clothing and batik fabric, one suitcase containing batik clothing and batik fabric, five red plastic bags containing batik clothing and batik fabric, one suitcase containing batik clothing, and three mobile phones,” he said.
The three suspects are a woman named Ledy Dwanty Naema Koen and two men named Krisantus Nomleni and Gelbeth Juliana Yunus. All three have been named as suspects and charged under Article 477 of the Criminal Code.
“This is a case of aggravated theft,” he said.
The victim initially reported the theft on Wednesday (4/2). As a result of the incident, the victim suffered losses amounting to Rp 1.3 billion.
“It began on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, at approximately 13:00 Western Indonesian Time, when the victim came to Tanah Abang Police Station to report a theft that was discovered to have occurred on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, at approximately 08:00 Western Indonesian Time. The victim suffered losses totalling Rp 1,376,000,000,” he said.
After receiving the report, officers immediately moved to the location and reviewed CCTV footage. The three suspects were identified and arrested on Thursday (12/2) at separate locations.
