Two Barito Pacific Subsidiaries Win KESGI Awards 2026 for Consistent ESG Performance
Jakarta, VIVA – The Barito Pacific Group has achieved significant recognition at the Katadata ESG Insight (KESGI) Awards 2026 through two of its business entities, namely PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk and PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk. The awards were presented as part of the Katadata Sustainability Action for Future Economy (SAFE) 2026 event in Jakarta today.
Chandra Asri Pacific received appreciation for its emission management initiatives within the chemicals and packaging sector. The company was also noted for its excellence in employee development and retention through enhanced training, career development, succession planning, and talent mobility.
Meanwhile, Barito Renewables Energy earned recognition for its energy efficiency and management initiatives in the utilities and electricity sector. The award was granted in recognition of the company’s commitment to improving energy efficiency through the implementation of energy management systems, efficiency innovations, and the management of renewable energy generation based on geothermal and wind power.
These achievements reflect the group’s efforts to integrate sustainability aspects into its business operations. Barito Pacific continues to invest in the utilisation of renewable energy, the implementation of clean technology, and the enhancement of energy efficiency.
Co-Founder & CCO of Katadata, Heri Susanto, stated that the KESGI Awards are presented based on the mapping and analysis of corporate performance through KESGI. Katadata has developed the KESGI dashboard over the past four years to process corporate data into actionable insights and ESG performance benchmarks.
“From this dashboard, we transform data into insights. From these insights, we analyse, obtain benchmarks, and ultimately provide credible recognition,” said Herable.
According to him, this year’s mapping covered approximately 400 companies using 100 collected and analysed indicators. From this mapping, Katadata identified several important developments in the ESG performance of companies in Indonesia.
Heri noted that Indonesia’s ESG score has increased significantly from 28.3 to 42.4. However, gaps remain regarding material issues in several critical sectors. Katadata also observed a growing disparity in ESG performance between different groups of companies.
“Katadata appreciates companies that demonstrate outstanding ESG performance in their respective sectors, based on data and empirical evidence,” he added.
The KESGI Awards serve as a form of appreciation for companies demonstrating commitment to and the application of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in their business activities. The awards utilise KESGI, which was first established in 2022 as an instrument to measure the implementation of corporate sustainability principles.
