Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 The Barito Pacific Group has achieved significant\nrecognition at the Katadata ESG Insight (KESGI) Awards 2026 through two\nof its business entities, namely PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk and PT\nBarito Renewables Energy Tbk. The awards were presented as part of the\nKatadata Sustainability Action for Future Economy (SAFE) 2026 event in\nJakarta today.<\/p>\n
Chandra Asri Pacific received appreciation for its emission\nmanagement initiatives within the chemicals and packaging sector. The\ncompany was also noted for its excellence in employee development and\nretention through enhanced training, career development, succession\nplanning, and talent mobility.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Barito Renewables Energy earned recognition for its energy\nefficiency and management initiatives in the utilities and electricity\nsector. The award was granted in recognition of the company\u2019s commitment\nto improving energy efficiency through the implementation of energy\nmanagement systems, efficiency innovations, and the management of\nrenewable energy generation based on geothermal and wind power.<\/p>\n
These achievements reflect the group\u2019s efforts to integrate\nsustainability aspects into its business operations. Barito Pacific\ncontinues to invest in the utilisation of renewable energy, the\nimplementation of clean technology, and the enhancement of energy\nefficiency.<\/p>\n
Co-Founder & CCO of Katadata, Heri Susanto, stated that the KESGI\nAwards are presented based on the mapping and analysis of corporate\nperformance through KESGI. Katadata has developed the KESGI dashboard\nover the past four years to process corporate data into actionable\ninsights and ESG performance benchmarks.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom this dashboard, we transform data into insights. From these\ninsights, we analyse, obtain benchmarks, and ultimately provide credible\nrecognition,\u201d said Herable.<\/p>\n
According to him, this year\u2019s mapping covered approximately 400\ncompanies using 100 collected and analysed indicators. From this\nmapping, Katadata identified several important developments in the ESG\nperformance of companies in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Heri noted that Indonesia\u2019s ESG score has increased significantly\nfrom 28.3 to 42.4. However, gaps remain regarding material issues in\nseveral critical sectors. Katadata also observed a growing disparity in\nESG performance between different groups of companies.<\/p>\n
