Twelve die in diarrhea outbreak

SEMARANG: Twelve people have died and 412 others have been
hospitalized in an outbreak of diarrhea in Kebumen regency from
early February to April.

Dr. Margo Utomo from the Central Java provincial health office
said the outbreak could be considered a disaster, given the large
number of fatalities. "We need to take immediate steps to contain
the outbreak," he said. (har)
