Trump hopes US-China relations will become stronger and better
US President Donald Trump, on Friday, hoped that relations between the US and China would become stronger than ever following his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. Trump also somewhat rejected Xi’s comments, which appeared to portray the United States as a declining nation. Trump argued that Xi’s criticism was actually directed at the previous US administration under former president Joe Biden and not his own administration. “When President Xi so elegantly referred to the United States, which might be seen as declining, he (Xi Jinping) was referring to the great damage that we (the US) suffered during the four years of The Sleepy Joe Biden and The Biden Administration’s rule. In that regard, he is 100 percent correct,” Trump said on the Truth Social platform. On the other hand, Trump described his administration as the one that successfully restored US economic and military strength during his spectacular 16 months in office. He cited the stock market’s record performance, strong employment figures, increased foreign investment, and military successes abroad as evidence of the resurgence of US power. Trump also highlighted the improving relations between Washington and Beijing after his meeting with Xi. “Hopefully, our relations with China will become stronger and better than ever before,” he stated.
