Jakarta — Violations of restrictions on the operational activity of trucks with three or more axles have continued since the policy came into effect on 13 March 2026.

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi has expressed concern over the situation. The violations are deemed to be contributing to traffic congestion at several transportation hubs.

Congestion is visible in the Gilimanuk Port area, which serves ferry crossings to Ketapang Port.

“The Ministry of Transportation expresses concern that there are still logistics businesses that are not complying with the policy restricting the operation of trucks with three or more axles that has been in effect since 13 March,” said Dudy in an official statement on Sunday (15/3/2026).

“This non-compliance has resulted in increasing vehicle queues at several strategic points, including at ferry ports,” Dudy continued.

The joint regulation was issued by the Ministry of Transportation, the Indonesian National Police, and the Ministry of Public Works.

The rules regulate restrictions on the operation of freight transport vehicles with three or more axles during the period 13–29 March 2026.

The restrictions aim to ensure smooth flow during the mudik (homecoming) season and to improve road safety for users.

The operation of large trucks outside the specified provisions is considered a form of non-compliance with national policy.

Logistics vehicles that continue to operate outside the regulations pose a potential risk of worsening traffic congestion. Safety risks also increase on roads and in port areas.

The government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring smooth transportation services during the Lebaran mudik season.

The directive is also in line with instructions from President Prabowo Subianto to all ministries and institutions.

“The President has reminded all government officials to ensure that people can undertake their mudik journeys safely, comfortably, and smoothly. Therefore, all parties need to cooperate and comply with the rules that have been established,” said Dudy.
