Triputra Agro Persada's Strategy to Boost Production Quality and Economic Well-being of Palm Oil Farmers
PT Triputra Agro Persada Tbk has initiated the Petani Berkualitas dan Sejahtera (Perkasa) training programme for all its subsidiaries in Jambi, Central Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan. The Perkasa training is part of the “TAP untuk Negeri” initiative as a friend to farmers from PT Triputra Agro Persada Tbk, which is consistent and focused on improving agronomic quality. Through this programme, it is hoped that the productivity of farmers’ gardens will increase along with sustainable welfare growth. This is as felt by Maijan, a palm oil farmer from Suak Putat Village, Sekernan, Muaro Jambi, Jambi. He claims that he is now more structured in fertilising his garden, measuring doses accurately and applying them on a more disciplined schedule. “In the past, I thought fertilising was easy, just scatter it. It turns out that the way we fertilise determines the health of the planted palm oil. If fertilisation is done correctly, the results will indeed be optimal,” said Maijan in his statement on Thursday, 2 April 2026. Through the training, Maijan has begun to understand the importance of correct agronomic practices, from selecting appropriate fertiliser, the right dosage, to effective application timing to support plant growth. “Because previously I only relied on handed-down habits without adequate knowledge,” he said. The Perkasa training programme is designed by combining 40 percent basic theory and 60 percent direct field practice intensively over three days. The hope is that participating farmers can immediately practise precise plant care methods, so they return with the confidence to become experts in their own gardens. A palm oil farmer from Muara Pias Village, Long Kali, Paser, who is also a Perkasa participant, admits that he has faced various challenges in palm oil cultivation due to limited knowledge. From issues with seeds not meeting expectations, pest attacks at the early planting stage, to plants not fruiting without knowing the exact cause. “After attending the Perkasa training, we understand the correct system and practices. This knowledge is very helpful in improving garden management so that the results can be better,” he said.
