JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) states that the vehicle queues on the route leading to Gilimanuk Port in Bali have been successfully cleared. Based on monitoring results at the location at 4:00 PM WITA, all vehicles are reported to have been accommodated in the buffer zone, and ferry crossing services are now running smoothly and under control. Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi stated that this success is due to the hard work of all stakeholders who quickly addressed the congestion on the ground. Dudy explained that the achievement is inseparable from the operational acceleration measures taken. One of them is by speeding up the loading and unloading process and reducing ship berthing time (port time). Currently, 40 ships have been operated to serve the crossings, with 30 of them implementing an arrive, unload, and depart system (TBB) shortened to 15 minutes. “We will continue to conduct periodic supervision and evaluation to maintain this controlled condition, especially ahead of Nyepi Day and the peak of the Eid homecoming flow,” he said. Kemenhub also made operational adjustments to ferry services on the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route. Ketapang Port will be closed starting Wednesday (18/3/2026) at 5:00 PM WIB and will reopen on Friday (20/3/2026) at 5:00 AM WIB. “Currently, Ketapang Port is reported to be smooth with no queues ahead of the closure. Ticket sales and passenger activities at Ketapang Port are already empty,” he added.
