Transjabodetabek Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Route Opens with Rp 3,500 Promotional Fare
Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the Transjabodetabek bus service on the Blok M–Soekarno-Hatta Airport route on Thursday, 12 March 2026. The Jakarta Provincial Government set a promotional fare of Rp 3,500 for this route during the first three months.
Pramono stated that the tariff policy was implemented to encourage the public to try the new service, particularly ahead of the Eid travel period. “For the SH2 Blok M route, for three months, especially in anticipation of Eid, we will maintain the fare at Rp 3,500,” he said during the inauguration in South Jakarta on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
According to Pramono, after the promotional period ends, the government will evaluate the tariff due to the heavy subsidy burden on the regional government. “After that, we will conduct an evaluation because the burden is too heavy and the subsidy is too large,” he said.
The DKI Government estimates that fares after the evaluation period will range from Rp 10,000 to Rp 15,000 per trip. The final tariff will be determined following a three-month operational evaluation.
The route is expected to reduce private vehicle usage to the airport. Based on data from the Ministry of Transportation, approximately 54.9 million passengers use Soekarno-Hatta Airport annually. Of this figure, approximately 70 to 80 per cent still use private vehicles.
“If 70 to 80 per cent of 54.9 million are using private transport, it will definitely potentially increase congestion and traffic burden,” he said.
Currently, several transport modes serve the route from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, including Damri shuttle buses at approximately Rp 80,000 per trip, Bluebird taxis at approximately Rp 217,000 excluding tolls, and ride-hailing services ranging from Rp 127,000 to Rp 155,500.
The Transjabodetabek SH2 route will be operated using 14 buses with operating hours from 05.00 to 22.00. Waiting time is estimated to range between 10 to 20 minutes. The DKI Government estimates that the fleet can serve approximately 1,900 to 2,000 passengers daily.
