Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated a new Transjabodetabek route on Thursday, 12 March 2026, connecting Blok M and Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Basoetta) under the designation SH2, positioning it as the most affordable public transport option to and from the airport.

Governor Pramono announced that the Transjabodetabek SH2 Blok M-Basoetta fare is set at Rp3,500. However, this introductory rate will apply for only three months as a public awareness campaign ahead of the Idul Fitri 2026 holiday season.

“The SH2 Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Airport route, particularly in preparation for Idul Fitri 2026, will maintain its fare at Rp3,500 for three months,” Pramono stated at a press conference on Friday, 13 March 2026.

After the three-month operational period, Pramono indicated the fares will be reassessed. The significant operational burden and extensive subsidies required have prompted this review timeline, given the considerable costs associated with operating in the airport precinct.

“After three months of operation, we will conduct an evaluation because the burden is too heavy and the subsidy too substantial,” Pramono added.

The governor noted that the SH2 route covers a considerable distance of 65.1 kilometres. Additionally, bus modifications were required to accommodate the new route, and parking fees at airport terminals further increase operational expenses.

“There are costs we must incur, and at Terminals 1, 2, and 3, bus parking is not free; there are expenses we must cover. That is what we are currently finalising and calculating,” he explained.

Despite the planned fare increase, Pramono maintained that the Transjabodetabek service from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta Airport will remain considerably cheaper than alternative transport modes. The increased fare of between Rp10,000 and Rp15,000 compares favourably with competing services such as Damri buses at Rp80,000, taxis at over Rp200,000, and ride-hailing services averaging above Rp125,000.

“We will raise the fare between Rp10,000 and Rp15,000. Compared to other bus operators like Damri at Rp80,000, taxis at Rp200,000 and above, and ride-hailing services averaging over Rp125,000, I am confident this will become a preferred alternative for people using Transjabodetabek,” Pramono concluded.
