Transaction rejected
Transaction rejected
From Bisnis Indonesia
I had a bad experience when shopping at the so-called highly prestigious Carrefour hypermarket in Jl Hayam Wuruk, Central Jakarta.
On March 5, 2001, I bought some goods and paid for them with my BCA card. At the cashier's counter, the card was processed for approval and I was then asked to put in my PIN. After the approval was processed, however, I was told that the transaction was rejected and that I had to pay cash. I complied with this request.
Unfortunately, when I told the cashier that my account had been debited, she insisted that it had not.
As I did not want to have a debate with the cashier, I contacted, that very night, Hallo BCA and got an answer from the customer service officer that our savings account had been debited with the amount of money for the above-mentioned purchase.
I returned to "Carrefour" and told the cashier what I had heard from Hallo BCA. She still insisted that she was right and asked me to return with a print-out of the transaction.
Three days later I returned to this hypermarket with the print-out requested and only then did the management agree to reimburse me with the amount already debited.
What I regret very much is that a lot of time was wasted to settle this failed transaction.
