Tran Duc leaves for Brunei

JAKARTA: Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong left for Brunei
on Monday after a two-day visit to Indonesia, an airport official
said.

An Airbus carrying Luong and his retinue took off from the
Halim Perdanakusuma air base in East Jakarta at 8:35 a.m., the
official said.

During his visit Luong signed two agreements on economic and
technical cooperation in an effort to strengthen ties and
increase trade.

Indonesia and Vietnam also agreed soon to settle their
differences over their continental shelf boundary in the South
China Sea, where they have overlapping claims.

Luong is scheduled to leave Brunei for the Philippines on Nov.
14 before returning home on Nov. 16. --AFP
