Train passengers harassed by vendors
Train passengers harassed by vendors
From Pelita
While traveling business class on the Fajar Utama train between Gambir station and Semarang Tawang, I have noted that vendors board the train at certain points.
This happens when the Cirebon to Jakarta train stops at small stations. On the journey from Cikampek to Cirebon, they board at Kertasemaya, Jatibarang, Haugeulis and other smaller stations.
These vendors push their wares onto passengers. This is quite bothersome to passengers who want to enjoy the trip.
The practice occurs even though vendors are banned from doing business in train cars. Many vendors have been caught engaging in their sneaky operations by security guards on the train.
The vendors at Cirebon station are quite different, as are those in other stops between Cirebon and Semarang. They are orderly and sell their wares outside the cars.
We suggest that the train security guards, especially those on the route between Cirebon and Cikampek, increase their operations to allow passengers to fully enjoy the train trip and to improve the image of state rail services.
