The viral video confession of two female Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in Saudi Arabia has drawn widespread concern from the public. In the footage circulating on social media, the pair claim to be victims of alleged exploitation and abuse while working overseas.

One of the victims recounted her distressing experience. She alleged being forced to service up to 15 men every day. Calculated over a month, this amounts to around 450 men. The victim also stated that she frequently suffered physical violence if unable to meet the demands set by the suspected exploiters.

“I have to service 15 people in a day, I have to hit the target, if I don’t reach the target, I don’t get paid,” one victim stated in the video uploaded to Instagram @volkinfo, as quoted by VIVA on Thursday, 7 May 2026.

Not only facing pressure and violence, the two PMI also claim they received no wages during their time at the work location. This situation led them to attempt escape multiple times to save themselves from the conditions they endured.

In their account, the victims tried to flee through the bathroom ventilation. However, this effort failed because the exit was barred with iron grilles blocking their path. This left them trapped once again at the site.

The opportunity to escape finally came when they were taken out to a shopping centre to buy clothes. Seizing the moment, they fled and hid. Fortunately, a taxi driver then assisted them, leading to them receiving help.

Preliminary suspicions indicate the two victims hail from Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. This case has captured public attention and added to the long list of issues concerning the protection of Indonesian migrant workers abroad.

Various parties are now urging a thorough investigation into the alleged criminal acts of human trafficking and exploitation suffered by the two PMI. The government is also expected to strengthen oversight of the deployment of workers overseas to prevent similar cases from recurring.

Even some netizens on social media are calling for the case to be thoroughly investigated. Some of them have also requested government assistance in this matter.
