Jakarta, Kompas.com — Traffic patterns for vehicles on toll roads approaching Eid 2026 are beginning to show a shift. Since H-19 Eid, non-Class I vehicles such as trucks have shown increased movement compared to normal conditions.

Jasa Marga Chief Executive Officer Rivan A Purwantono stated that the indication of this shift is evident from the movement of Class II and higher vehicles, which have begun to increase over recent days.

“The vehicle traffic trend has undergone a shift by today. From H-19, it is already visible when we compare that non-Class I or Class II vehicles are moving. So there is already circulation compared with normal conditions,” said Rivan during a media briefing in Bekasi, West Java, on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

Compared with the same period last year, the increase reached 4.15 per cent.

Rivan explained that the pattern of increased vehicle traffic can typically be identified from around H-22 before Eid, not just at H-10 as is often the primary focus of attention.

He added that Jasa Marga has also identified several factors triggering road traffic accidents on toll roads, one of which relates to non-Class I vehicles such as freight transport or trucks.

“Recently there have been fairly significant accidents. Especially disruptions caused by non-Class I vehicles,” he said.

According to Rivan, this condition is one of the reasons for implementing certain restriction policies through joint government decisions to ensure safety during the migration period.

He cited the example of increased freight vehicle traffic also visible on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road (Japek) section, which experienced congestion during the period from February to early March.

“Class II and higher vehicles, which are mostly freight transport or trucks, have increased significantly,” he said.

“Therefore, we ensure that we provide the opportunity for people undertaking migration to still be able to travel safely and securely,” he concluded.
