A viral video shows Traffic Police (Polantas) from Banten Provincial Police escorting a mother carrying her seizing child from the roadside near the Serang Timur Toll Gate to Bhayangkara Hospital. Prior to the police intervention, the child was reportedly rejected by a hospital because the family did not have BPJS coverage.

In the video, Brigpol Decky and Bripda Dendi are seen transporting the mother named Menah, who is holding her child experiencing high fever. Menah’s face appears panicked as her three-year-old child suffers from seizures.

They navigated through Serang city traffic using a patrol vehicle. Decky, who was driving, used the loudspeaker and siren to request that the road be cleared due to the emergency situation.

Upon arriving at Bhayangkara Hospital, the mother immediately rushed to the emergency department. Decky assisted with the administrative procedures while Menah stayed with her child, who was being treated by the medical team.

The Director of Traffic for Banten Provincial Police, Kombes Arief Kurniawan, stated that the incident occurred on Friday (27/3/2026) at 08:30 WIB when on-duty officers at the Highway Police Unit Command Post received a report from the public.

“Upon receiving the report of a child having seizures, the officers immediately took the child to the hospital and directed them to Bhayangkara Hospital,” said Arief on Friday (10/4/2026).

Meanwhile, Decky explained that initially, a member of the public arrived on a motorbike to report that a young child was having seizures. The police then went to the location and found a crowd of panicked residents gathered.

“There was a child in need of help. We responded quickly, and we took them to Bhayangkara Hospital,” said Decky.

Decky mentioned that initially, the mother had taken her child to one of the hospitals. However, she was rejected by that hospital because they only had a Certificate of Indigence (SKTM).

“The administration couldn’t proceed. Because they only had a poverty card, not BPJS. In the end, we took them to Bhayangkara Hospital,” he stated.

According to Decky, their responsive action was in line with instructions from the Banten Police Chief, Irjen Hengki. He emphasised that the police must act and respond quickly to public complaints.

“We must provide a quick response, in accordance with the directives from the Police Chief,” he said.
