JAKARTA - The Head of the Traffic Police Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, has reminded traffic police personnel to work with sincerity when serving the public during the upcoming 2026 Lebaran homecoming and return season.

Agus also requested that traffic police officers provide humanitarian service to the public.

“There are many policies aimed at how we can serve the public with sincerity. This is part of the directive from the National Police Chief, starting with engaging with the community and serving the community,” said Agus whilst leading a morning assembly at the NTMC Police Field in Jakarta on Monday (9 March 2026).

“I have expressed my appreciation and thanks for all assignments, whether in operational, functional, and other fields. So the Traffic Police Corps remains manageable to this day,” he added.

Agus also alluded to the police’s readiness to implement Operation Ketupat, which is conducted to secure the homebound and return traffic flows for Lebaran.

He emphasised that the operation focuses not only on traffic security but also on ensuring that all community activities during the festive period run safely and peacefully.

According to him, the security measures cover various aspects, ranging from traffic management to support for community religious activities.

“How we secure mosques, how we can prepare for Eid prayers—all of this falls under traffic police functions,” said Agus.

The morning assembly was also attended by several senior officials of the Traffic Police Corps, including Director of Law Enforcement Brigadier General Faizal, Director of Security and Safety Brigadier General Prianto, Director of Registration and Identification Brigadier General Wibowo, and Head of Operations Brigadier General Aries Syahbudin, along with other senior officials.
