The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps Chief, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, will meet with Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi and several stakeholders to discuss preparations for the second wave of the return flow. To date, various traffic engineering measures have been prepared to welcome the peak of the second return flow.

“The return flow consists of two waves. The first on 24 March, and the second on 28 March. Therefore, tomorrow morning we will hold a meeting with stakeholders, with the Minister of Transport, the President Director of Jasa Marga, and others,” said Inspector General Agus to reporters at the toll gate Km 70, Cikatama, West Java, on Friday (27/3/2026).

Inspector General Agus also outlined plans for implementing the first stage of local one-way traffic for the second wave return flow. However, detailed decisions will be announced tomorrow.

“Tomorrow, we may also plan to implement the first stage of local one-way. It could be from kilometre 188 or kilometre 263. Tomorrow’s decision will determine how to accelerate the return flow from Trans-Java towards Jakarta,” he stated.

Inspector General Agus left open the option of implementing one-way from the Km 414 GT Kalikangkung section if there is an increase in return flow from Yogyakarta, Central Java, and East Java.

“However, if the flow from kilometre 263 to kilometre 70 has been cleared, it will only go up to 263. If there is still rising traffic from East Java, Greater Yogyakarta, Greater Solo, Semarang, we may open one-way return flow from 414,” he explained.

Inspector General Agus noted that the peak return flow had already occurred on 24 March, described as the highest in history.

Today, Inspector General Agus directly monitored traffic conditions on the Trans-Java toll road from Km 414 GT Kalikangkung to Km 70 GT Cikampek Utama. Overall, there was density at several points, but it remained under control.

“But the flow situation tonight is still dense, yet manageable. At kilometre 70, I was travelling at 75 kilometres per hour earlier. So, it’s still quite well managed,” he remarked.
