Traffic flow along Kalimalang mudik route remains smooth on Monday morning
Bekasi — Traffic flow along the Kalimalang mudik corridor, specifically at the Bekasi Cyber Park (BCP) intersection on Jalan KH Noer Ali, South Bekasi District, Bekasi City, remained smooth on Monday (16 March 2026) morning.
Kompas.com monitoring at the location showed vehicles from East Jakarta heading towards Jalan M Hasibuan Bekasi and Jalan Ahmad Yani Bekasi were flowing normally without long queues.
The relatively light traffic conditions were attributed to some mudik travellers choosing specific times to begin their journeys during Ramadan. In addition to avoiding traffic congestion, these times were selected to help drivers escape the intense heat when undertaking long-distance travel.
To anticipate potential vehicle congestion during the mudik period, Bekasi Metro Police have implemented traffic engineering measures in the form of a one-way system along the Kalimalang route. The traffic engineering was implemented from the Sumber Artha area in Bekasi towards the Pantura route via Kalimalang.
The one-way system has been in effect since Friday (13 March 2026) as a measure to reduce potential vehicle congestion on the route. Traffic congestion frequently occurs at several junctions along Kalimalang, particularly in the Sumber Artha area and the Grand Kota Bintang Bekasi toll underpass. These conditions are triggered by large numbers of vehicles making U-turns at these points.
