Traffic Congestion on Cipali Toll Road Stretches for Dozens of Kilometres
Entering the peak of the homecoming flow, thousands of vehicles crowded the Cipali toll road in Subang, West Java. Although the one-way system was still in place, congestion persisted, with vehicles queuing for dozens of kilometres on Thursday (19/3).
Observations at Cipali toll road Km 110 showed thousands of vehicles continuously filling the road in Subang, West Java, with two lanes and the road shoulder packed with vehicles that could only crawl along.
Even with the one-way system still implemented, the dense traffic flow caused vehicles to slow down. Additionally, after the rest area at Km 102, there was a narrowing due to the reduction in the number of lanes from three to two.
Vehicle density was observed from Km 100 in the Kalijati area of Subang to Km 130 on the Cipali toll road. Queues of vehicles entering and exiting the rest area also contributed to the slowdown.
Traffic density on the Cipali toll road is expected to continue increasing until late tonight, predicted to be the peak of the 1447 H Lebaran homecoming flow.
