Traditional food festival opens
JAKARTA (JP): A two-week food festival featuring traditional eateries from various regions across the country has opened at the Pasaraya department store in Manggarai, Central Jakarta.
Organized by the department store, the festival was opened by Governor Sutiyoso Friday and will last until April 8.
The 30 food sellers participating in the event offer an array of traditional fare from Jakarta's Kerak Telur, Bandeng Presto from Semarang, and Roti Medan from North Sumatra.
Sutiyoso said he hoped the festival would become a routine event to promote local delicacies at the national or even international level. (ind)
