Jakarta — The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) through the Indonesian Trade Attaché Office (Atdag) in The Hague, Netherlands, has announced that micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have successfully identified potential transaction value of 150,000 US dollars (approximately 2.50 billion rupiah) for canned gudeg and processed coconut cream products.

The Trade Attaché in The Hague, Annisa Hapsari, stated that this potential transaction resulted from a business matching session conducted online between PT Risquna Dewaksara and PT Aloe Vera Indonesia with Dutch importer Interaromat BV.

“Plant-based food products have the potential to reach consumers in the Netherlands who are interested in ethnic cuisine. Furthermore, the interest in processed Indonesian products demonstrates an opportunity to expand market reach into Europe,” said Annisa in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.

Annisa noted that the Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) will continue to monitor the development of the business matching and facilitate all necessary follow-up actions. “Product displays made it very easy for buyer recognition,” she remarked.

Annisa encouraged Indonesian food and beverage exporters to capitalise on opportunities for plant-based and ethnic food products in the Dutch and European markets. However, she emphasised that these products must also meet quality standards, supply consistency, and comply with European food import regulations.

Indonesia’s primary export commodities to the Netherlands include animal and vegetable fats and oils, footwear, chemical products, organic chemicals, and machinery and electrical equipment.

In 2024, total trade between Indonesia and the Netherlands reached 5.73 billion US dollars. Indonesian exports to the Netherlands totalled 4.75 billion US dollars, whilst Indonesian imports from the Netherlands amounted to 984.51 million US dollars. Indonesia recorded a trade surplus with the Netherlands of 3.77 billion US dollars.
