BEKASI – The Directorate of Animal Police deployed tracking dogs (K-9) to trace the perpetrator of an alleged robbery case that killed EU (65) and left his wife PW (60) in critical condition at Prima Lingkar Asri residential complex, Jatibening Village, Pondok Gede District, Bekasi City, on Monday, 2 March 2026.

Monitoring at the location, the tracking dog traced and scented the perpetrator’s trail along Jalan Raya Kalimalang. The location was not far from the crime scene, which directly bordered the victim’s house fence.

Approximately 20 to 30 metres from the house, the tracking dog stopped at a defunct motorcycle wash (steam) building now used as a scrap storage facility. The K-9 remained at this point for approximately 15 minutes. However, during the search operation, no significant reaction was observed indicating the presence of evidence or strong perpetrator traces at the location.

Earlier, the tracking dog had first searched inside the victim’s house, which was the crime scene.

Bekasi Metro Police Criminal Investigation Chief, Kompol Andi Muhammad Iqbal, revealed that based on crime scene analysis, the suspected perpetrator entered the house through a window in the early morning hours.

“From our crime scene analysis, the entry was through the window. The window at the corner there (front of the house) was damaged,” said Andi when met at the location on Monday.

According to Andi, the perpetrator allegedly first climbed the front fence of the house, which bordered an empty plot near Jalan Raya Kalimalang. This suspicion was strengthened by the discovery of footprints on the victim’s fence.

“So most likely from the front wall, then directly climbed to the house gate door. In front of it is empty land,” said Andi.

The victim’s house was found to have no CCTV surveillance camera. Nevertheless, police are now examining CCTV recordings from residents in the surrounding area to track the perpetrator’s movements.

Regarding motive, Andi said investigators are still conducting deeper investigation. Preliminary suspicion points to robbery.

Police have also secured several pieces of evidence from the crime scene.

“For evidence at this time, we are securing bedding with blood on it, as well as items with indications,” said Andi.

The victim EU has been buried at TPU Komplek BRI Jakasampurna in Bekasi City after previously being taken to Polri Kramat Jati Hospital for autopsy examination. Meanwhile, PW remains under intensive care at Primaya Hospital.

Andi added that the investigation of this case involves personnel from Pondok Gede Police Substation, Bekasi Metro Police, and the Jakarta Metro Police Detective Unit to reveal the perpetrator and motive of the incident. To date, police continue to develop the investigation.
